What Is Internal Linking?

Internal linking is connecting pages within your own site. It distributes authority from strong pages to important ones, helps crawlers discover content, and tells search engines which pages matter most. Blog-to-collection links are ecommerce’s highest-leverage internal links.

A practical system: every blog post links to 2–3 relevant collections with descriptive anchor text; every collection links to related collections and buying guides. Orphan pages — with no internal links — rarely rank.
