A smart collection is a Shopify collection that automatically includes products matching defined conditions — tag, type, vendor, price, or title keywords. Products flow in and out as they match, eliminating manual curation.
Smart collections scale merchandising: tag a product "sale" and it instantly appears in the Sale collection. The trade-off is precision — you cannot hand-pick or manually order products unless you switch sort to manual-compatible options.
A collection page is a Shopify category page that groups related products — for example /collections/summer-dresses. Collection pages are the highest-traffic-potential pages on most stores because they match commercial search queries like "linen summer dresses" better than individual products do.
A product page (PDP, product detail page) is where a single product is presented with images, price, variants, and the add-to-cart button. It is the conversion-critical page of any store: traffic quality, content depth, and trust signals here decide revenue.
